Foundation Building
The heritage-listed Foundation Building was constructed in 1896. It is ideal for short courses, conferences, meetings, presentations, weddings, and formal dinners. A small chapel (seating 25 people) is located near the building and is perfect for anyone planning a wedding on campus.
Rooms for hire:
- Function room: Seating for approximately 40 people
- Northern room: Seating for approximately 35 people
- Board room: Seating for approximately 20 people

- Air-conditioning
- Kitchenette available in the Northern room
- Standard white board, fixed Audio/Visual screen – plug and play (laptop not supplied)
- Wide wrap-around verandahs
- Tables and chairs available. Set up can be arranged by Conference Unit by request.

The Elton Burns Recreation Building
The Elton Burns Recreation Building (Multi Purpose Hall) is perfect for short courses, conferences, exhibits, and dances.
Rooms for hire:
- Large hall with concrete floor: Seating for approximately 500 people

- Wheel chair access
- Wide entrance doors for large machinery
- Good ventilation and lighting
- Portable stage
- Suitable for partitioning off display booths

Peter Roberts Continuing Education Centre
The Peter Roberts Continuing Education Centre is connected to the Gatton Campus Motel by a walkway and is perfect for short courses, conferences, meetings, and presentations.
Rooms for hire:
- Lecture room: Seating for approximately 30 people
- Meeting room: Suitable for small groups and workshops
Features:
- Courtyard/Pergola, wheel chair access
- White board, projector, screen, TV/Video/DVD
- Entrance/Foyer, Kitchenette (tea and coffee making facilities)

The Chapel
Bulit by the US Army during World War II, this stunning heritage building is suitable for small weddings and can seat up to 40 people.
Features:
- Seating for 40 people
- Platform stage and lectern
- Adjacent reception lawn with stunning views
Recreational Activities
Include access to the UQ Sport Gatton Fitness and Aquatic Centre in your next conference.
The facilities include a 25-metre heated pool, cardio and weights gym, sporting hall, squash, netball, basketball and tennis courts, and playing ovals. This facility can be included in your conference package for an additional cost. The UQ Fitness and Aquatic Centre is open to the general public.
Tours of the campus are also an interesting option for groups during their stay. (Additional charges apply).

GATTON SHORT-STAY ACCOMMODATION
UQ Gatton offers short-stay accommodation options if you’re on-site for a conference or need overnight accommodation while your animal is receiving veterinary care.

GATTON CAMPUS MOTEL
The Gatton Campus Motel consists of 14 rooms each containing two queen size beds and is best for short-term accommodation.
Rooms for hire:
• 3 family rooms
(2 queen beds and a pull out lounge)
• 11 double rooms (2 queen beds)
Included in rooms:
- Air-conditioning and television
- All linen
- Kitchenette – fridge, kettle & toaster, tea & coffee
- Hair dryer, iron & ironing board
- Ensuite bathroom
- Motel features:
- Separate kitchenette on ground floor / Free laundry / An adjoining meeting room (CEC)

THE COTTAGE
The cottage includes a kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom and is suitable for longer term stays (5 nights or more) and is fully self-contained. It is ideal for visiting academics or international students completing an internship.

(linen supplied) - One fold-out lounge in the living room
- Kitchenette (all cooking utensils supplied)
- Air-conditioning and television
- Bathroom and laundry

HALLS OF RESIDENCE ACCOMMODATION
Conference accommodation in the UQ Res Halls of Residence is only available during the University semester breaks in January, February, June, July, and December and is perfect for large conference groups.

- 436 rooms – including 14 double and
- 16 single air-conditioned rooms.

We’re here to give you all the information you need to help you make the right decisions.
How many rooms are on offer? Are they shared rooms? What is access procedure (key, swipe card?)
Each room includes a single or king-single bed, study desk, office chair, wardrobe/ We have a 14 room motel, 11 rooms have 2 queen beds, 3 rooms 2 queen beds and a pull out lounge. Each room has an ensuite. A swipe card is issued by Halls of Residence and is programmed to the dates you have requested in your booking – outside designated semester dates, we can offer up to 436 rooms spreading over 12 separate dorms. Each room has its own key which is supplied to guest on arrival. All bathrooms in dorms are shared. One dorm is airconditioned (30 rooms).
Are they available all year round?
Motel rooms are available all year round, subject to availability.
What is the configuration of the rooms? (doubles, singles, airconditioned)
Motel rooms configuration as above all motel rooms are airconditioned.
Can catering be supplied? Breakfast, lunch and dinner? Morning and afternoon tea?
Please refer to our catering page – if catering is required for larger groups (conferences, workshops etc) breakfast, lunch and dinner can be ordered and served in the on-campus dining hall, all conference meals are by quote only.
Can we cater for special dietary requirements?
On campus catering caters for all dietary requirements on request.
Does the accommodation have disability access?
The motel has 6 ground floor rooms available 1 room has wheel chair bathroom access.
When are final numbers expected (how many days prior – catering and accommodation)?
Final numbers for conference/workshop bookings are required 2 weeks prior to event commencing.
Do your conference rooms have Audio, conference calls abilities?
Some of our conference rooms have plug and play screens, however conference calls are not an option at this stage.
Is linen supplied (what does this include)?
Linen is supplied, sheets, pillow and case, towel, doona, soap.
Is there parking on campus? Does it cost to park? Can buses park on the grounds?
Free parking is available campus-wide using allocated parking areas.
Transport available around Gatton?
A rail-bus service runs between Brisbane and Gatton. Catch the Ipswich line train to Rosewood Station and transfer to Translink bus (route 539) to travel throughout Gatton to UQ Gatton campus.
What deposit is asked, when is final payment due?
20% deposit is required at time of booking (on quotation) and final payment is due two weeks prior to arrival. Any other ancillary costs will be invoiced after the completion of the event.
How do you collect keys? Can this be arranged on the weekend for key pick up?
Key collection is available at Morrison Hall in our UQ Res Gatton Office. Keys can be collected on weekends only by prior arrangement.
What is the procedure for lock outs etc whilst conference is in progress?
All lockouts are directed to Security (contact details are supplied with your conference package).
Is there access to Wifi onsite?
UQ Guest is a free public wireless internet service for guests supporting UQ activities and events.
Guests can connect to the network by signing in with their Gmail, Facebook or LinkedIn accounts (similar to other free wifi services). The use of a social login method enables UQ to meet legislative and security obligations.
Is there security onsite?
UQ’s Security Patrol Service keeps UQ students, staff, visitors and facilities safe on campus 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
